Montgomery Twp. Wetdown

Saturday August 4th - Today members were in attendance for the wetdown held for Station 45 in Montgomery Township.  The festivities started out with a motorcade to the station, which afterwards, everyone was waiting around to see when the water flow would begin.  Once again teaming up with the crew of Station 27, around 2 PM, the water fight begun with a line being stretched off of Engine-278 utilizing their tank water.  After running low on water supply, Engine-251 was put to work in which we begun to use our tank water.  While this was taking place, our crew pulled a 2nd line off of E-278 to continue the attack.  While all of this was happening, another plan was in the brewer in which 25-R2 & 27-A went to seek out a permanent water supply.  Sure enough, there were 2 tankers that was available for us.  One 4000 gallon tanker from Pennington Road, and a 8000 gallon from Cassville FD.  The firefighters from Cassville FD was more then happy to lend us a hand and offer assistance with the task.  After about 1 1/2 hours of non-stop water flowing, the members of Both East Franklin FD & Community FD with the joint assistance from Cassville FD, showed over 20 plus FD in attendance that Franklin Township Fire District # 3 is not a joke and is nothing to mess with.  After the water fight, the trophies were handed out in which our department won for "Best Appearing Fire Equipment" in attendance.  Once again, we would like to thank both departments for showing great teamwork.
